So I’ve been looking into things and I can get a MS and PhD in Canada (UBC and UofT) for the same amount of money as getting a masters at a semi-top school like U of Washington, assuming I become a citizen before starting the PhD which I don’t think would be a problem.

I’m thinking that I either want to do research in cosmology (at a university) or in applied physics (like work in R&D at a tech company making quantum computers or some sort of cutting-edge technology).
